Melbourne based label Neuw Denim, founded by the three denim-guru mates Par Lundqvist, Stephen Little and Richard Bell, have been making waves globally, and their newly released ‘Goldmine’ collection is another winner. We recently got the opportunity to check out the collection and meet up with the denim obsessed co-owner/creative director Par, and it is clear to see that his passion and enthusiasm for all things denim has been deeply ingrained into the character of Neuw’s garments.
Neuw’s Goldmine range draws inspiration from the work-wear worn by miners around the turn of the 20th century. A stand out feature from this collection is the tasteful application of grittiness and worn effects, as garments undergo the rigours of processes such as hand scraping, black spraying, overdying and salt washing. The end result is an intriguing visual and tactile depth of fabric, which lead to a pair of jeans with distinct character and charm.
