If you’re in the market for a 23-feet-tall KAWS sculpture, then you’re in luck. The KAWS colossal CLEAN SLATE Companion sculpture will be a part of the Evening Sale of the 20th Century & Contemporary Art auction put on by Phillips. Originally debuted at Harbour City in Hong Kong, the piece is currently on display in the Phillips’ plaza in New York. Experts estimate that the sculpture will sell for somewhere between $900,000 to $1,200,000—easily the most expensive KAWS work ever sold.
If you don’t have a high enough ceiling for the giant sculpture, you might want to consider the other KAWS piece that is being offered. UNTITLED (FATAL GROUP) will be up for auction and is expected to sell for between $700,000 and $900,000 (this is expected to be the highest price ever for any painting by the artist). The subject of the painting is the characters from the cartoon The Fat Albert Show.
