Hasbro Selfie Series

You Can Be an Action Figure with Hasbro’s Custom 3D Printing

You can now turn yourself into an action figure thanks to the recent partnership between leading printing company Formlabs and toymakers Hasbro. Titled the Hasbro Selfie Series, manchildren across the world can scan their face with the Hasbro Pulse app, choose their desired figurine, and customise their character/hairstyle. Once the order is complete, fans can expect a custom collector-grade, six-inch version of themself to arrive at their doorstep. Learn about the manufacturing process in the video above.

Prospective buyers can choose from Star Wars, Marvel, Ghostbusters, GI Joe and Power Ranger characters –including Black Panther, Iron Man, Snake Eyes, X-Wing Pilots and more. Both companies have worked together since 2014 to create quick prototypes, and their process has evolved to enable mass production and customisation.

“Our work with Hasbro continues to evolve to be at the forefront of innovation,” said Max Lobovsky, CEO and co-founder of Formlabs. “3D printing has long been viewed as a prototyping tool, but the Hasbro Selfie Series personalisation platform demonstrates that Formlabs enables end-product manufacturing at scale. I love making and personalising things I use and am excited to see how fans react to this new 3D printing-powered experience.”

The Hasbro Selfie Series figures are scheduled to drop later this year for USD$60 (AU$90). Check out more images below.
