But despite all the updates, the trailer did reveal one glaring omission – a campaign mode. Setting
EA DICE confirmed that Battlefield 6 will be set in a world that is on the brink of destruction, with food, energy and water creating a refugee crisis. Among those impacted are the “Non-Patriated”, a faction made up of soldiers, farmers and engineers who have been left without a home nation. As is usually the case in these sorts of scenarios, the USA and Russian remain partially constructed, battling it out for global supremacy, however, this is where the mission gets interesting. To survive, a number of Non-Patraited, which each player will take on the role of, have joined both sides, hoping to gain a ‘seat at the table’.

New Game Modes
A consultation prize for those wanting a Battle Royale, Battlefield 2042 is bringing All-Out-War, its revamped multiplayer experience. According to reports, this mode cops huge 128-player maps on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X, while PS4 and Xbox One players will have 64-player versions, scaled-down but still larger than previous iterations.
The second new game mode is Breakthrough, an option where one side attacks while the other defends in an attempt to capture areas. In most cases, this ends with a head-to-head clash. The final mode is Conquest, which EA DICE described as a “classic all-out war experience”, seeing a mass battle over a large space. Customisation is the name of the game here, where you can choose where to go and how you want to fight.
