Capture the Spirit of Wakanda With This Life-Sized LEGO Black Panther Set
It’s time to suit up and get building. LEGO has unveiled a life-sized Black Panther set based on the late Chadwick Boseman’s iconic superhero. The danish toy maker is no stranger to over-the-top collaborations and has partnered with Marvel on several different occasions to release replicas or life-sized buildable sets of some of our favourite MCU superheroes. What better way for LEGO to pay homage to the late Black Panther actor than to introduce a 19-inch, life-sized build-and-display model that really aspires to ‘capture the spirit’ of Wakanda?

LEGO announced the new “epic” Black Panther set as part of the Infinity Saga collection and it oozes royalty, firmly commanding your respect. The build comprises a total of 2,961 pieces and is a blocky version of T’Challa’s effigy that comfortably sits on top of a sturdy flat top arch base. What further catches the key is the stylised nameplate bearing the name Black Panther right on the centre of the base. The set can be kept in a few different ways depending on one’s personal tastes.
First is the clean torso look, which basically displays only the Black Panther’s upper torso with his characteristic claw necklace. It really looks fierce and classy. The set is definitely a head-turner and perfectly captures the essence of the character. The necklace is constructed from flexible pieces, allowing it to freely hang around the neck. Or you can go with the widely famous crossed arm “Wakanda Forever” pose. The set has a buildable pair of Black Panther gloves with articulated fingers and fingertips nails that can be interlocked to the display base to reconstruct the iconic crossed arms pose.

The LEGO Black Panther statue measures 18 inches (46 centimetres) high and 15 inches (39 centimetres) wide and comes with an 18+ age rating. Also, neither the bust nor the gloves are actually wearable and are solely made for display purposes. There’s no Vibranium to be found either since the whole set is made of pure plastic.
Those looking to get their hands on this new LEGO Black Panther set will have to wait until October 1. The set will set you back a whopping AUD$549.99 (or USD$349.99) and will be only on the official LEGO store for Lego VIP members, the company’s free loyalty program, allowing users to earn points and rewards on every purchase. The set will then be made available for the masses from November 9. The timing of the set could not have been more perfect either. With Black Panther: Wakanda Forever releasing just a few days later on November 11, LEGO will surely be betting on these flying out the door.
