NERF has partnered with the makers of Fortnite, the most popular video game in the world for a range of special edition blasters. NERF Fortnite Blasters encourage gamers to get away from the screens and best their friends in real life. Albeit without the parachutes and building forts requires significantly more effort.
Available now at Australian retailers, the NERF Fortnite AR-L Blaster is inspired by the coveted “Golden Scar” weapon found in Fortnite. It’s a motorised, clip-fed dart Blaster with a 10-dart clip and 20 official Elite Fortnite darts are included. Users flip up the two sights on the top of the blaster to align a shot, then power up the motor with the acceleration button and pull the trigger to shoot a dart. This blaster retails for $79.99.
The Fortnite SP-L Blaster has a detachable barrel for customising different ways to play. Users can attach the barrel for distance targeting or remove it for a more compact feel when space is limited or speed essential. The SP-L Blaster has an internal clip with a three-dart capacity, so you can load three darts in a row before it’s time to reload. It’s available for RRP $34.99.
The new NERF Fortnite Blasters join the recently released NERF Fortnite Microshots which are mini-sized blasters based on the weapons of Fortnite.
The Fortnite blasters release to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of NERF. Since 1969, the Hasbro-owned brand has consistently redefined and reignited the world of play. Plus, they have provided us with a fun way to annoy our mates without actually causing them lasting injuries.
Half a century on, NERF doesn’t look to be slowing down one bit. Coincidentally, NERF shares its half-century with the original moon landing. If NASA hasn’t tested NERF Blasters in space, they need to get on to that ASAP.
