Hasbro and Blizzard are teaming up to bring official Overwatch NERF Guns to your living room. The first-person shooter video game, published by Blizzard, is a perfect match for Hasbro’s NERF gun line. Considering that within a week of the game’s release over seven million people were playing Overwatch (that number has since grown to over 40 million players), each with an itchy trigger finger, coming out with guns inspired by the popular game may just be one of the smartest moves Hasbro could make.

The first gun to be released is the NERF Rival Overwatch Reaper Wight Edition Blaster. The design of the blaster is true to the game, with Reaper’s signature colors. The gun carries up to eight NERF Rival rounds, which it can fire at 90 feet per second. It also includes a ready indicator and a safety lock. A recent announcement on the Overwatch twitter feed indicates that the next gun being added to the arsenal will be D.VA’s Light Gun, which will feature recoil action and can fire Rival rounds at 80 feet per second. As with Reaper’s Wight Blaster, D.VA’s gun remains true to the game.

With 27 playable heroes, Overwatch represents a treasure trove of upcoming collectible guns. This could be a win-win for both companies, as NERF fans will want to check out the game, and Overwatch fans will either want the guns as displays or to use for their own, real world battles.
Check it out
Have you subscribed to Man of Many?
