U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt counseled, “Speak softly, and carry a big stick.” No need for the stick when you have a Loveland Armaments Kobra-1 Foam Dart Blaster. Admittedly, the Kobra-1 isn’t “big.” It’s about the size of your average pistol-style foam dart blaster. The size comes in when you’re talking about the hit power of this blaster. The Kobra-1 fires darts at 130 feet per second—approximately 88.5 miles per hour. That would be like staring down a professional baseball pitcher’s fastball. Now that’s a big stick.
The Kobra-1’s design is very minimalistic, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t look good. The blaster is hand-crafted from polycarbonate, UHDP, epoxy, and carbon steel screws. Looking at how it’s made and the materials, you might wonder if they were shooting for a blaster, or a tank. The blaster also features an integrated weaver rail for any tactical Airsoft attachments you would like to use. The integrated magazine is capable of firing three Nerf brand-sized darts in succession, or, if you’re a bit more of a customization warrior, you can fire five homemade darts (1.25”).
Loveland Armaments is currently running a Kickstarter campaign to raise the money to purchase the equipment they need to start mass-producing the Kobra-1. If you’re hesitant about investing in start-ups, there’s no need to worry about Loveland as their future looks bright. They won the MiddChallenge Business Idea Competition 2018—so someone out there definitely sees their potential.
