Top New Games Releasing in July 2019

With Winter now in full force, everyone is spending more time indoors, meaning more time spent gaming. Thankfully there are plenty of new games releasing in July 2019 to keep you busy. We’re most looking forward to Wolfenstein: Youngblood, as that series continues to impress. The retro-inspired Blazing Chrome looks set to deliver some 80’s arcade goodness, while Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 looks like perfect entertainment for you and a few friends on a cold night in.

EA’s original game Sea of Solitude has just launched, promising an emotional, artful journey. Dragon Quest Builders 2 should satisfy Minecraft fans who also appreciate a deep and engaging story. Plus, Fire Emblem: Three Houses brings tactical turn-based combat to the Nintendo Switch. Wolfenstein: Youngblood – PC, PS4, XB1, Switch

Embark on a new co-op adventure as one of BJ Blazkowicz’s twin daughters and undertake a do-or-die mission to find their missing father in an alternate reality 1980s Paris. Set nineteen years after the events of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, sisters Jess and Soph wield an arsenal of new weapons, gadgets, and power armour abilities in a fight to kick Nazis out of the city of lights.

Blazing Chrome – PC, PS4, XB1, Switch

Machines rule the Earth, placing the human race on the edge of extinction. It’s up to a small group of rebels to overthrow their oppressors. Play as Mavra, a super badass human resistance soldier, or Doyle, the equally groovy and deadly insurgent robot. Bring a friend for some co-op action while enjoying a classic run’n’gun experience that blends elements from classics like Contra and Metal Slug.

Dash through 5 apocalyptic environments filled with hundred of robots-enemies. Defeat a bunch of mechanical bosses with riding hoverbikes, make use of jetpacks, massive armours and a whole arsenal of kick-ass weapons along the way. Available July 11

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order – Switch

Assemble your ultimate team of Marvel Super Heroes (and villains) from a huge cast including The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, the X-Men, Deadpool and more. Team up with friends for an original story and prevent galactic devastation at the hands of Thanos, the Infinity Stones and his ruthless warmasters, The Black Order. Dragon Quest Builders 2 – PS4, Switch

A mashup of Minecraft and the long-running series Dragon Quest, this block-building, role-playing adventure is only limited by your imagination. There’s a lengthy single-player campaign where players create a character, team-up with others and gather the skills required to become a full-fledged builder and combat the Children of Hargon, a vile cult that worships destruction.

Construct bigger structures in a bigger world with more variety and options. Along the way, players improve their skills, learn new recipes and blueprints. Run across open fields and explore charming villages, treacherous mines, and spectacular castles. The Blackout Club – PC, PS4, XB1

Every night, everyone in town gets out of bed and sleepwalks. In the morning, they wake up with no recollection of what happened or where they were. Taking matters into their own hands, several teenagers form The Blackout Club to get to the bottom of this. Unfortunately, the recent disappearance of a close friend means that the sleepwalking isn’t just strange – it’s deadly.

The Blackout Club is a first-person co-op horror game for up to 4 players, centered around a group of teenage friends investigating a monstrous secret beneath the skin of their small town. Using tools such as drones, noisemakers, and grappling hooks, you will outwit and outmaneuver the adults while attempting to obtain and record evidence that will prove what is happening to the rest of the world.

With procedural elements that change goals, enemies, loot and more, no two nights in the neighbourhood will be the same. The Blackout Club is already available in Early Access with the full release expected for July 30

Sea of Solitude – PC, PS4, XB1

On a journey to overcome a young woman’s inner loneliness, players must help Kay through a flooded city landscape in a profoundly touching tale of darkness and light. As waters rise and fall to reflect Kay’s state of mind, players will encounter fantastical creatures and monsters, learn their stories and solve challenges to rid the world of tainted memories.

Designed with a striking visual style, Sea of Solitude is an intimate adventure across a beautiful and evolving world where nothing is quite as it seems. Players unlock new areas to explore by overcoming emotional challenges, progressively releasing light and colour into the dark and stormy world. Through unique encounters with a variety of beautiful and terrifying monsters, Kay will discover why her loneliness has turned her into a monster and what it will take to change back to a human. Fire Emblem: Three Houses – Switch

You are invited to teach one of three mighty houses of students brimming with personality and a royal from the territory. As their professor, you must lead your students in their academic lives and in turn-based, tactical RPG battles wrought with strategy and new twists. Which house and which path will you choose?

Three Houses features the refined tactical gameplay of the Fire Emblem franchise. Players command a party of warriors to move and fight on a grid-based battlefield and, for the first time in the series history, assign battalions of troops to support individual units in battle.
