Famous for their leather goods and watches, the dudes from Detroit at Shinola decided to bring their game to ping pong. Specialists in making practically anything aesthetically appealing, Shinola did not disappoint with their ping pong paddle as they teamed up with Back Forty Woods. These guys are a wood shop and design studio in Oregon and are dedicated to locally-sourced and reclaimed materials.
The paddle has a refined high neck profile, a maple plywood core and a black and bourbon leather with high oil content to ensure there is more grip and spin on the ball for players. As it consists of high quality wood, the weight is quite sustainable for a paddle, thus, this is made for the player that plays the power game. To be honest, it’s such a ravishing racquet that I would prefer it live in a glass cabinet rather than being battered and bruised in a match.
