The Man Who Took $100,000 from Kanye West
With roots in graffiti, Sydney artist Scott Marsh became one of the most talked about artists this year when his recent mural of Kanye West went viral on social media attracting unprecedented levels of global press and publicity. After years of hard work, struggle and a wee bit of good luck, this high-profile piece work has helped boost Marsh’s career to new and exciting heights.
We were lucky enough to chat with Marsh and hear about his life, his art and his new Yeezy’s in this Man of Many original video interview.

So why was this artwork so popular? Well, Marsh artwork depicted Kanye doing what Kanye does best; loving himself. The Kanye mural was based on an iconic photo of Kanye and Kim’s red carpet (groping) kiss at the Grammy Awards, but instead of Kanye Kissing Kim, Marsh’s mural showed Kanye kissing Kanye.
Now we all know how much Kanye loves Kayne, but what we also found out is that Kanye doesn’t love people painting pictures of Kanye of Kanye kissing Kanye, because what happened next was crazy. Apparently Kanye’s team contacted Marsh asking him to take down the mural. In response Marsh demanded $100,000 and a lifetime supply of Yeezy sneakers… And Kanye Agreed.
