Best New Movie Trailers – July 2021

It’s official. We still have trailer fever. There’s no doubt about it. In a world where Apple TV+ & foot rubs are the new norm, and enticing us to go out and catch a flick is getting harder; a trailer can lead a film to global success or be the catalyst for missing its mark in the box office. As a result, we’ve seen an unprecedented effort put into the crafting of spine-tingling teasers and tantalising trailers. But the fact remains – not all trailers are made equal.

Here at Man of Many, we know trailers, man. Whether it’s Jason Mamoa flexing his space calves in ‘Dune’ or Paul Rudd being handsome (in a friendly way) in ‘Ghostbusters Afterlife’ – if the trailer’s red-hot, we’ll have a gander and let you know about it. So without further ado, here is a list of the Best New Movie trailers that dropped in June 2021.

Dune Official Main Trailer

In spite of its prose being drier than the sands of Arrakis, ‘Dune’ is considered one of the most iconic science-fiction novels of all time. And now, one of the greatest directors alive today (Denis Villeneuve) is doing the movie. Starring Dicaprio’s successor, Timothée Chalamet, Jason Momoa, Zendaya, Oscar Isaac, Javier Bardem, Jessica Ferguson, Josh Brolin, and pretty much every great actor under the sun, Dune is the story of ancient households battling it out for the galaxy’s most precious resource: Spice. This is a film you do not want to miss on the big screen.

Lamb Official Trailer

Well, that was weird. From the studio that brought us ‘Good Time’ & ‘Midsommar’ comes the story of the creepiest herd of sheep, you could possibly imagine. We won’t spoil the trailer for you – it really is something you just have to see – but our gut tells us that when this comes out, you won’t be counting sheep to get to sleep anymore. Baa.

KING RICHARD Official Trailer

An early biopic on the GOAT’s themselves, the Williams sisters, KING RICHARD boasts similar vibes to ‘Ford vs Ferrari’ – which is a very good thing. Starring Will Smith as the difficult Dad who stopped at nothing to live vicariously through his daughters, Wimbledon fans are in for a treat, if this trailer is anything to go by. Prepare to be let down, uplifted, inspired, and tense up during every match, even though you know the ending.

THE CARD COUNTER Trailer

In a tired genre that lost its lustre for a time in the early 2000s, and was revived very briefly by the surprising ‘Mississippi Grind’, you’d be forgiven for rolling your eyes at the thought of another movie about ‘the game’ of cards. And then there’s the obvious title that sounds more like a b-grade lifetime movie than one starring Oscar Isaac. But within 20s of the trailer, it’s clear the people behind this film – a lineup of filmmakers that include Martin Scorses – had a vision for this film. So if you enjoyed ‘21’ or ‘Rounders’, even a little bit, be sure to get in on this hand.

Ghostbusters Afterlife – Official Trailer (again, but different)

The franchise that maybe should have stayed in the afterlife, is back and starring one of Hollywood’s most likable dudes: Paul Rudd. The man whose earnest handsomeness just won’t quit. The trailer for Ghostbusters Afterlife looks decent enough, even evoking the spirit of Spielberg himself at points – and yet, like the failed reboot a few years back, it lacks the teeth of the original. Without the sarcasm of Bill Murray, and the genuineness of Harold Ramis, we fail to see how this movie will ever please the moviegoers. Hail Zuul.

Jackass Forever Official Trailer

Not gonna lie, the nostalgia is real. And despite the boys looking a little older, they are no wiser, to our delight. Featuring bullfights, cannon shots, giant hand slaps, and face punches, the trailer culminates in what might be their stupidest stunt yet: locking a man up in a room with a bear, covered in honey and salmon.

Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain – Official Trailer

If you love food, chances are you love Anthony Bourdain. A man who used food as a way to find the secret recipe to a better life. Over the years, he’s influenced thousands of chefs, globe bound on a quest for great food and great people. And we’ve loved every second of it. Roadrunner seeks to give AB the sendoff he may not have liked, but the one he deserves. Peek behind the pass and connect with the author of Kitchen Confidential for one last time – at the very least, you’re in for a few laughs, maybe a few tears, and of course a lot of good food ideas.
