The Lamborghini Biopic Trailer Highlights the Fierce Rivalry with Ferrari

Lionsgate has dropped the trailer for Lamborghini: The Man Behind The Legend, giving us a glimpse into the film that will chronicle the life of Ferruccio Lamborghini, the founder of the Italian supercar manufacturer. While we’ll reserve judgement until its release, we suspect the film’s historical accuracy will be a point of contention among motor enthusiasts.

When we first heard about the Lambo biopic, Antonio Banderas and Alec Baldwin were announced as the Lamborghini and Ferrari rivals. Instead, Frank Grillo (The Grey, Warrior) takes on the titular role, with Gabriel Byrne (The Usual Suspects, End of Days) playing his fierce nemesis. Whether the rivalry has been overblown, like Hunt and Lauda’s in Rush, is likely to be answered by watching the movie.

Based on the vehicles featured in the trailer, the flick will follow Lamborghini’s life until the ’70s, when the Countach was on the road. Additionally, the trailer includes other classic cars such as the Lamborghini Miura, the 350 GT,  numerous Ferraris, a Porsche 356, plus much more.

The official synopsis states the upcoming film follows “the long life of the iconic entrepreneur, from the manufacturing of tractors at the start of his career, to creating military vehicles during World War II, and then on to designing and building the Lamborghini cars that ultimately defined his profound legacy.”

If you want to check out Lamborghini: The Man Behind The legend, it’ll be in select theatres and on VOD on November 18. Watch the trailer above.
