Margot Robbie Goes on a 1920s Drug Bender in Official ‘Babylon’ Trailer
Paramount Pictures has just released the official trailer for its biggest film of the year, Babylon, and after watching it, we need some ibuprofen and a hot bath. Featuring a star-studded cast, this flick looks like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, The Great Gatsby and The Wolf of Wall Street had a threesome baby – and now we can’t wait for its release early next year. Check out the video above.

From Damien Chazelle (La La Land, First Man), Babylon is described as an original epic set in 1920s Los Angeles led by Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Diego Calva, with an ensemble cast including Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li and Jean Smart. The film’s synopsis reads: “A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, it traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.”
Babylon marks Chazelle’s fifth movie and his biggest yet. “After the quietness of First Man, I wanted to do something boisterous and loud,” he Chazelle at a Toronto International Film Festival event (September 12) where the trailer was debuted (via Deadline).
He continued: “Babylon was the biggest number of roles I have ever juggled. The casting process took a long, long time. Mostly a fictional film. All the characters are fictional but inspired by composites of real-life people.”
Chazelle captured Hollywood’s attention in 2014 with Whiplash and hasn’t been holding back ever since. As we see in the “uncensored” clip, the trailer shows Margot Robbie snorting drugs, fighting snakes, and partying among a crowd of naked degenerates.
Strap in, folks, because Babylon looks like one wild ride – and arrives in the middle of silly season, with a limited release on December 25 2022, followed by a wide release on January 6 2023.
