New ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ Trailer Shows Harry Styles Stuck in a Utopian Nightmare
Back in May, we received the first official trailer for Olivia Wilde’s creepy 1950s thriller Don’t Worry Darling, starring Harry Styles in his first leading role on screen. Like anything associated with the pop sensation, fans went nuts over the preview and immediately awarded it the greatest piece of cinematography of the century. Ok, maybe not, but it sure felt like it. To tease fans once more, Warner Bros. just released the second trailer for the highly anticipated film. Check out the new trailer above.

The film is set in the town of Victory, a 50’s era idyll that obviously isn’t all that it seems. On the surface, an extremely good-looking couple (Harry Styles & Florence Pugh) with an extremely passionate sex life seem to be living the dream. However, the utopian vibes are contrasted by the disturbing scenes featured throughout the clip, namely the town leader’s (Chris Pine) watchful eye over his inhabitants. Exploring this apparent darkness lurking underneath the surface seems to be at the heart of Don’t Worry Darling.
Harry Styles has garnered most of the buzz in the movie’s lead-up, yet the storyline seems to centre around Florence Pugh’s character, Alice. While the townspeople of Victory seem to be living under a hypnotic spell, Alice awakens to the oddities of her surroundings. Determined to get to the bottom of it in spite of the increasing distress of her husband, an epic face-off with the town leader ensues.
The thriller, directed by Olivia Wilde, also stars Wilde, Gemma Chan, Kiki Layne, Nick Kroll, Sydney Chandler, Kate Berlant, Asif Ali, Douglas Smith, Timothy Simons and Ari’el Stachel. Don’t Worry Darling premieres only in cinemas on September 23 2022, in the United States and on October 6 2022, in Australia.
