‘Shazam! Fury Of The Gods’ Trailer Gets Down to Business
Zachary Levi dropped the first trailer for Shazam! Fury Of The Gods at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), sharing plot details and chatting about the future of the DCEU movie franchise. Hitting theatres on January 5, the sequel continues the story of teenage Billy Batson who shouts SHAZAM! and transforms into his buff, superhero alter-ego.

The debut trailer finds Shazam (Zachary Levi) comparing himself to the seemingly superior Justice League, lamenting, “Aquaman is literally huge and so manly. The Batman is so cool! And I’m just me.” Eminem’s track “Business” kicks things into gear Shazam is warned that the Daughters of Atlas are coming for him.
In last week’s SDCC panel Levi shared, “We got this really cool look into all of the kids getting their superpowers at the end of the last movie, which was so fun. And now it’s a couple years on, and we’ve all been flying around doing various missions trying to help the city of Philadelphia and the world at large. But again, we’re all still learning how to do that.”

The original cast returns, including Asher Angel as the teenage Batson. Director David F. Sandberg is also back, bringing Dame Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, and West Side Story’s Rachel Zegler into the mix as baddies Hespera, Calypso, and Anthea, aka the Daughters of Atlas.
When fans asked if there would be a Shazam! 3, Levi quipped, “Ok fine, we’ll do another one.” He went on to wager, “Look, if you guys go and see this one and you like it, then there’s a good chance that the bosses will want to make another one. I would hope so. I love playing this role. It’s so much fun to do these movies.”
Shazam! Fury Of The Gods will be released in cinemas on 5 January 2023. Next up from DC, an insanely ripped Dwayne Johnson punches planes as Black Adam on October 20, which led us on an Easter Egg Hunt! Director David F. Sandberg conjured up evil doll Annabelle for a cameo, with keen eyes able to spot her in the trailer. Sandberg previously directed Annabelle: Creation back in 2017. Last year she landed on the 20 Scariest Horror Movies of All Time According to Science.
