‘Succession’ Season 3 Release Date Confirmed for October

The long wait is soon to be over, the Succession season three release date has been outlined. According to HBO and the show’s official Twitter, the Roy family will return to screens in October, after months of delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While it’s not an exact date, fans aren’t complaining. The next batch of episodes landing in October comes far earlier than many were expecting, a welcomed change of pace from recent announcements.

The Succession season three release date news comes just weeks after HBO dropped the first trailer for the third instalment. It showed the family battlelines being drawn after the monster season two cliffhanger that left fans wanting more. This time around Oscar-winner Adrien Brody joins the cast as Josh Aaronson, a billionaire activist investor who threatens to disrupt the ownership battle for Waystar.

While the Succession season three announcement should be enough to keep fans at bay, many are already looking ahead, questioning if there is more to come. The good news is that HBO is planning a few more instalments. In an interview with The Times, executive producer Georgia Pritchett revealed that while she had a few more seasons up her sleeve, the penultimate number was five.

“I think the maximum would be five seasons, but possibly more like four,” she told The Times. “We’re at the end of filming season three, so at this point is saying only one more. But that happens every time. We’ve got a good end in sight.”
