The original That ’70s Show was one of Fox’s most popular programs from 1998 until 2006. Lasting eight seasons and 200 episodes, the show was responsible for launching the careers of numerous A-listers, including Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Topher Grace, and Wilmer Valderrama.

The sitcom centred around the relationship between two teenagers, Eric (Grace) and Donna (Prepon). The story follows the couple and their eclectic group of friends as they navigate the tumultuous phase of high school and adolescence. Eric’s parents, Kitty and Red, played by Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith, feature as the stereotypical parents of the decade throughout the seasons. Fan’s of the show will be pleased to know that both Rupp and Smith will be returning as the elder Formans.

The spinoff will take viewers back to 1995, with Eric and Donna’s daughter, Leia Forman, has come back to Wisconson to visit her grandparents. The official synopsis of Netflix’s That ’90s Show states: “Hello, Wisconsin! It’s 1995, and Leia Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna, is visiting her grandparents for the summer, where she bonds with a new generation of Point Place kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red. Sex, drugs and rock’ n roll never dies, it just changes clothes.”

The series is still in the early stages of development, so stay tuned for more updates.
