If there’s one thing you should know, it’s not to mess with another man’s dog. At least, that seems to be the take-away from the John Wick series, which is about to become a trilogy. Baba-yaga is back in the third installment of the franchise, titled Parabellum, and is scheduled for release in May of 2019.
According to Keanu Reeves, the actor playing the titular character, the title of the movie comes from a Roman military quote from the 4th century: Si vis pacem, para bellum—“If you want peace, prepare for war.” Every indication from the trailer definitely demonstrates that there is a war about to happen.
After the events from John Wick 2, Wick is still on the run after killing Santino D’Antonio in the Continental. Now ‘excommunicado,’ Wick is banned from every service offered by the Continental and is being sought after by the High Table. Many of the cast from previous movies are returning, such as Ian McShane as Winston, the owner and manager of the Continental, and Laurence Fishburne, who plays the Bowery King.
Wick is joined by Sofia, played by Halle Berry, who seems to take his side, and Anjelica Huston who will portray The Director, a member of the High Table and a friend to Wick. Hiroyuki Sanada will play the film’s antagonist.
The series has seen a great deal of success, with the first film bringing in $88.8 million worldwide and the second doubling that with $172.2 million worldwide.
