The 10-episode special showcases the behind-the-scenes drama and action surrounding the award-winning feature – that almost never came to life. Written by Michael Tolkin (The Player’s) and Nikki Toscano, the series examines the complicated relationships of Francis Ford Coppola, Robert Evans, Albert S. Ruddy, and Marlon Brando. The show pivots around firebrand producer Ruddy – played by Miles Teller (Whiplash) – who managed to create a revolutionary piece of art despite a lack of support from studio executives, shady financing, and mobsters.
Working alongside Miles Teller on-screen is Dan Fogler as director Francis Coppola, Mathew Goode as Paramount executive Robert Evans, Giovanni Ribisi as gangster Joe Colombo – who actively campaigned to boycott the film because of how it portrayed the Italian community. Paramount Plus will release the first three episodes of The Offer on April 28.
