Whether you’re a fan of there music or not, there’s no denying that the infamous Wu-Tang clan is one of the most unlikely of American success stories. Earlier this week, Hulu streaming service released the first trailer for their very own ten-episode tv series aptly named Wu-Tang: An American Saga.
Set in early ’90s New York, at the height of the crack cocaine epidemic, the docu-drama is set to follow the path of Bobby Riggs aka RZA who brings together Raekwon, GZA, Ghostface Killah, Method Man, Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Inspectah Deck (played by the one and only Joey Bada$$).
Since their humble beginnings, the Wu-Tang Clan have since sold over 40 million albums and became one of the many faces of ’90s Hip Hop rivaling the Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur.
The TV Series is loosely based on RZA’s books, “The Wu-Tang Manual” and “Tao of Wu” and the tv series is produced by the man himself. So it is safe to expect, a raw unadulterated account of the struggles of racism, crime and drug addiction in early 90s New York City. Oh and yeh, did we mention a soundtrack stacked with all of your favorite Wu-Tang classics?
Wu-Tang: An American Saga is set to release on September 4, 2019.
