Bad Boys for Life, the franchise’s third chapter, was a blockbuster hit, raking in USD$426.5 million at the global box office in 2020. Nearly two decades prior, Bad Boys II set the bar high with a worldwide theatrical run that brought in USD$273.3 million. The franchise first took flight in 1995 with the original Bad Boys film.

While fans eagerly await more details about the untitled fourth Bad Boys film, it’s worth mentioning that Smith’s latest project, the Antoine Fuqua-directed film Emancipation, was just released last month. The film, which stars Ben Foster, Charmaine Bingwa, Steven Ogg, Mustafa Shakir, Timothy Hutton, and more, is generating buzz in its own right.

According to Variety, the fourth Bad Boys film is said to be in early pre-production and will see the return of directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, with a script penned by Chris Bremner. Stay tuned for updates on what promises to be another quote-worthy hit.
