If you didn’t already know, St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival is heading to Sydney this Sunday. Expect a day of sun, sound and not a whole lot of sleep. We understand that doing a one-day festival right, takes a little bit of planning. So we thought we’d put together a guide with everything you need to know about Laneway 2020.
Each year, Laneway Festival is bigger and better than before and this year is shaping up to be no different. Boasting a fresh new venue and a star-studded lineup, there was no way that we were missing out. If you’re wondering, you’ll find us parked up at the Jameson House of Rounds rehydrating throughout the day.
You can thank us later.
Boasting an absolutely stacked lineup for 2020, Laneway is headlined by Charli XCX, Earl Sweatshirt and The 1975.
Other must-sees include Sydney-teen Ruel, DMA’s, Ocean Alley and of course King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Be sure to get down early and see Pist Idiots, and New Zealand’s finest Benne.
You can see the full lineup here.
For the first year ever, Laneway is making the move to Sydney’s Domain in Woolloomooloo. A five minute walk from the Sydney CBD, think ahead about how you’re gonna get to the venue. More likely than not, it’ll be easier and cheaper to take public transport than an Uber.
Whether you’re the kinda guy to organise your festival day down to the minute, or more disposed to a euphorically inebriated float from stage to stage – it’s a good idea to have a squiz at the Set Times ahead of time. At the end of the day, you did spend all your mula on a ticket to see some artists.
Hot tip: take a cheeky screenshot of the set times and set it as your phone wallpaper. Not only will you have all the details at your finger-tips, but you’ll also save on that precious battery life.
If you’re looking to get out of the sun, head over to the Jameson House of Rounds. They’ll have the decks spinning from midday until 9pm. You’ll be hard-pressed to find anywhere better to have a boogie.
Just don’t forget to buy your mates a round. You know it’s your turn.
If you’re still on the hunt for a ticket to Laneway 2020, they’re still available for $180 from Moshtix. Do yourself a favour and buy them now to save yourself that horrible last-minute scramble on the day.
Also, in another Laneway first, they’ll be a smattering of YOUTH (16+) tickets for $170. You can grab them here.
Laneway has announced that the official after-party for this year’s festival will help raise money for those affected by the bushfire crisis!

Finally, look after your mates. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Enjoy kids.
