EA Sports has dropped details of the killer soundtrack for its upcoming FIFA 19, and maybe, just maybe, we’re more excited for the music than the game. Maybe.
Even if you’re not into football or sport in general, there’s an excellent Spotify playlist embedded below for your listening pleasure. The full soundtrack boasts 43 tracks representing more than 16 countries. Football is indeed, the world’s game.
Expect the likes of Childish Gambino, Gorillaz, Logic, Jacob Banks, Crystal Fighters, and supergroup LSD (Labrinth, Sia & Diplo). There’s new music from Scotland’s award-winning trio Young Fathers, UK neo-soul collective Jungle, and Aussie indie stars Mansionair. Speaking of Australia, there are also tracks from Courtney Barnett, Confidence Man, and Broods representing New Zealand.
Plus buzzworthy artists like American songwriter Billie Eilish, Manchester grime rapper Bugzy Malone, London soul man Stealth, German producer NoMBe, UK rapper Octavian, Oslo DJ Bearson, French-American rapper Bas feat. J. Cole, and UK singer-songwriter Sam Fender.
FIFA 19’s story mode The Journey is even scored by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer. He’s the talented individual who scored almost every blockbuster film including The Lion King, Gladiator and The Dark Knight Trilogy.
The FIFA franchise has always had an excellent soundtrack that stays with you long after you’ve put down the controller and returned to the outside world. This year’s game will be no exception. FIFA 19 launches worldwide on September 28 and features stacks of new content including a battle-royale-inspired mode.
