‘Splendour in the Grass’ Pop-Up Festival Coming to Sydney

Just a few short weeks after announcing the massive Splendour XR initiative, the team behind Splendour in the Grass has unveiled another music festival, this time in the heart of Sydney. Backed by the NSW Government, the newly unveiled Splendour in the City is set to take over the iconic Overseas Passenger Terminal from Saturday 10 July to Sunday 18 July. Bringing a touch of Byron to the Big Smoke, Splendour in the City promises to deliver great vibes and tasty tunes, all in the name of a good cause.

The nine-day long event will see over 20 artists spread across two rooms, the Comedy Club, long table dining, specialty bars including The Strummer Bar and The Winery, art installations, markets, Little Splendour kid’s program, and even a Freak VR room pop up.

Big names like Spacey Jane, Tash Sultana, Ocean Alley, Illy, Vera Blue and Violent Soho will headline the Customs Hall shows, with party rock legends Dune Rats and other huge acts Tiple One and Big Twisty taking pride of place at Cargo Hall. Best of all, events at the two venues will be ticketed with all proceeds going to the artists, while entry to the general event area is free.

“While we’re still working towards our Byron Bay event in November and are very grateful for the ongoing support from our Splendour community, we hope that the Splendour in the City pop up, alongside our recently announced Splendour XR virtual festival, will tide you all over in the meantime,” Splendour in the Grass co-founder Jessica Ducrou said. “Hugest thanks to the NSW Government and Destination NSW for their support to make this happen.”

Splendour in the City will run from Saturday 10 July to Sunday 18 July at Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal. Ticket’s go on sale at 9am on Friday 18 June through Moshtix.
