The Wiggles Like a Version 2

The Wiggles are Doing ‘Like a Version’ This Week

Get well and truly amongst it. After 16 years of covers, acoustic renditions and international exports, Triple J’s ‘Like a Version’ segment has just copped its biggest guest ever, The Wiggles. Everyone’s favourite band of merry finger pointers are heading into the iconic studios to lay down two tracks, one original and one cover, and we can only imagine what that could be.

While the announcement sent shockwaves through the Aussie music scene, the real gem came after. The official Wiggles Twitter account confirmed that original members Murray and Jeff will be joining the current lineup for the Triple J performance, marking a reunion of sorts for the iconic children’s act.

It won’t be the first time The Wiggles have stepped into the recording studio for a rendition of a classic hit, however. Back in 2014, the new-look Wiggles covered One Direction on Nova with Fitzy and Wippa, to mixed reviews. As usual, The Wiggles cover will remain hush-hush until Friday morning when the band steps into the studio, but that hasn’t stopped Triple J fans from throwing out their suggestions. From Powdefinger’s Baby, I’ve Got You On My Mind to Phill Collins’ Easy Lover, the requests are a mixed bag, however, when Triple J asked what The Wiggles should play, we think one user really nailed what we’re all thinking.
