Noisey Finds the Wildest Rapper in the World

Noisey is launching a new global rap series and their starting out big, heading over to Poland to chase down the world’s wildest rapper, Popek Monster.

Pawel Ryszard Mikolaujuw grew up in a life of criminality. At the age of 14, the Poland native dropped out of school. He joined up with a rape crew called Firma in 2000 that included Bosski Roman, Tadek, Pomidor, and Kali. In 2007, he started his own solo activities and has released three albums under the name Popek Monster. His album “Monster” went Gold in Poland and the Czech Republic. Popek has worked with plenty of rap artists over his career, including Chronik, Krept and Konan, Big Narstie, JME, Professor Green, Jedker, Soko, Peja, Virus Syndicate, Tempa T, P Money, Devlin, Wiley, Malolat, The Game, and Sean Price. Popek’s music falls into the genre of dubstep, grime, and gangsta rap.

As successful as his music career has been, though, he is probably best known for his extracurricular activities. Videos of Popek getting his eyeballs tattooed or having his face scarred can be found online. In a video called “Pain by My Guest,” Popek was hung in the air by hooks. He famously spent over a year in a coma. He has three wins and four losses as an MMA fighter. According to Culture.pl., “Popek Monster declared that his golden teeth would be pulled out with a pair of pliers and given to homeless people.” Perhaps craziest of all, Popek is a ballroom dancer.

Noisey’s video follows along as Popek takes the viewer through his ridiculous life. It’s a crazy video—fitting, considering that Popek is arguably insane. Just be forewarned before you click the link, that the video opens with a warning about explicit content, and that’s Popek’s mild side.
