Shane Warne is Auctioning His Baggy Green for Fire Victims

UPDATE: The auction has now ended, with Warnie’s Baggy Green raising $1,007,500 for the Bushfire Appeal.

As catastrophic bush fires sweep the east coast, one well known Aussie has joined the thousands already raising money for the Bushfire Appeal by auctioning off a prized possession. Sporting legend and King of Spin Shane Warne is auctioning his Baggy Green cap. In the first few hours of bidding, Warnie has so far raised over $300k for the fire victims.

This highly sought after item was worn throughout Warne’s 145-match Test career for Australia where he took 708 wickets. The item comes with an autographed certificate of authenticity by Warne. 100% of proceeds from this online auction will be donated to the Bushfire Appeal.

“The impact these devastating fires are having on so many people is unthinkable and has touched us all,” says Shane Warne on Instagram. “This has lead me to auction off my beloved baggy green cap that I wore throughout my test career.”

“I hope my baggy green can raise some significant funds to help all those people that are in desperate need.”

The bidding is open throughout the week and is expected to close 10am Friday, January 10. You can place a bid via the Pickles auction site linked below or help out by donating directly to the Bushfire Appeal.
