Throwback is your one-stop-shop for everything basketball. To celebrate the brand’s 6th birthday and a newly acquired partnership with Nike, Throwback has opened a huge 200sqm Flagship store in Darlinghurst dubbed “Hoops Central.”

The Flagship features everything a basketball fan could want: from one of Australia’s largest in-store NBA apparel assortments and Hall of Fame room showcasing 70’s, 80’s, 90’s & 00’s inspired jerseys & threads, to Sydney’s first ever full-scale “DYO Uniforms Lab” dedicated to basketball. The Lab allows players and teams to create and order their own uniforms. The store even features a cafe for those looking for a quick eat or drink during live NBA games streaming on the big screen.

An authentic 1950’s hardwood basketball court was recycled and restored to form the store’s foundation, and a distinct 'split-personality’ of themes segments the performance and lifestyle assortments to create the ultimate basketball experience.

Hearing the surround sound of live NBA games makes you feel like you have walked into one of the leagues' largest arenas and the Throwback vintage jersey locker display will overwhelm even the most hardcore fans.

The original Throwback concept store opened its doors at Alexandria Basketball Stadium in the Sydney Metro area. Throwback founder Michael Lazaris transformed an old, rundown, unused storeroom into a thriving business that grew into the new Hoops Central.

For more NBA goodness, check out Nike’s Connected NBA smart jerseys and our review of NBA Live 18.
Check it out

Have you subscribed to Man of Many?
