Have you felt the need to drop everything and escape overseas, preferably somewhere tropical? That’s precisely what cinematographer Adrian Emerton did. He even brought back some stunning footage to make us all jealous.

Adrian Emerton has a habit of acting on impulse. He was chilling at a local cafe, scrolling through global swell charts and dreaming of escaping the daily grind. Working in the heart of Sydney, Adrian’s greatest obstacle is finding time to trek out to the sunny shores of the eastern suburbs.

Adrian decided on a sneaky vacation. He got in touch with his bodyboarding mate Mitch Blewitt, booked some cheap(ish) tickets and two days later, they were both riding the waves of Rarotonga in The Cook Islands.

Sydney production company Crosswave hooked Adrian up with a water housing for his Fs7 camera. Adrian used it to shoot a stunning short film titled "Conscious," which looks like it was pulled straight from a tourism campaign.

If you can’t drop everything to head overseas for a surfing trip, you're apparently doing it wrong. At least we can all live vicariously through Adrian Emerton.
