Founded in Rome in 1925 by couple Edoardo and Adele Fendi, Fendi is a family business at heart. The Italian luxury fashion house began as a furrier and leather goods company, transitioning into haute couture and ready to wear almost half a decade later, helmed by the late Karl Lagerfeld who was the label’s creative director from 1965 until his passing in 2019.
Fendi’s status in the luxury market was cemented during the 1990s, largely thanks to the success of its accessories line, particularly the Baguette handbag, introduced by Silvia Venturini Fendi (one of the Fendi founders’ granddaughters). Silvia Venturini Fendi was the creative director of menswear, and began as creative director for all of Fendi in 2019, succeeding Karl Lagerfeld.
We’ve teamed up with Fendi to curate five looks featuring our favorite pieces from the Italian fashion house for every occasion from poolside lounging to formal dressing and everything in between.
1. Upscale Streetwear
We’re loving the FENDI PRINTS ON collab which taps into the cultural zeitgeist that is Nicki Minaj. A t-shirt featuring a graphic print of the rapper’s face pairs well with casual jogger pants – about the closest we’ll come to wearing sweatpants outside. Nylon is not a typical material for a bomber jacket, however, in this case, it helps the look maintain a streamlined silhouette and features the FF motif with a graduated effect. Subtle pops of color are incorporated through yellow mesh detailing on sleek black leather sneakers and a yellow inlay on a leather cardholder.

2. Next Level Casual
Transitional dressing is simplified with Fendi’s contemporary interpretation of quotidian staples. The classic elegance of the timeless white shirt and neutral colored pants combo is offset by the ultimate layering piece; a workwear-inspired shirt jacket, an ideal mid-season wardrobe essential. This look is all about the details, namely Fendi’s iconic brown leather Peekaboo bag featuring the Italian fashion house’s signature FF motif on the exposed internal zipper pocket. The look is rounded off with elegant Italian crafted derbies with Karl Lagerfeld’s Karligraphy motif embroidered on the toe cap and a metal ring with gold finish with Fendi’s signature Bag Bugs Eyes.

3. Logomania for the Streetwear Adverse
Often relegated to outsized streetwear looks, our favorite Fendi pieces are an elevated take on the ‘90s trend. The FENDI logo emblazoned across a grey cashmere sweater takes center stage, with the all-over FF Karl jacquard motif on a pair of tailored black wool trousers providing a pared-back approach to logomania. Relaxed details like ageless white leather sneakers and black accessories ground this casual look.

4. The New Classic
A well-cut suit never goes out of style; we’re hedging our bets on this slim-fit black wool number teamed with an Italian-collared white shirt. Whilst the classic footwear of choice for suiting is typically in the oxford or derby department, we’ve opted for a pair of Chelsea boots with Karligraphy embroidery on the toe cap for a more modern interpretation of formal dressing. Topping it off is a slim-fitting single-breasted black wool coat featuring an all-over FF motif lining visible on the coat’s notched lapels and collar. We’ve ditched the outdated sartorial rule of not mixing black with brown by pairing the look with an understated black leather watch, Peekaboo Iconic Essential black leather bag, and a brown striped silk tie.

5. Poolside Swag
Poolside attire all too often involves Hawaiian prints and muscle tees. Not the case with Fendi; brown swim shorts with the all-over Fendi motif are the ideal high-end alternative to tropical prints. In honor of Fendi’s late creative director, we’re digging the Karlito logo on the Karl Loves Fendi black cotton t-shirt. Logomania comes into play again with gold lettering on classic black rubber pool slides and the Italian fashion house’s signature all-over FF logo on a brown cotton beach towel. Laidback accoutrements like double bridged shades and a classic black baseball cap let the bolder sartorial items do the talking.
