adidas Team Up With Australian Artists For Its Supercolor Collaboration

Following the release of the adidas Originals and Pharrell Willliams Supercolour shoes, five Australian artists were each commissioned to interpret a colour from the range. Packing individuality and creativity, the artist collectively produced a range of artworks that echo the ethos of what it means to be as Superstar. Contributors to the Supercolour project include artist Jonathan Zawada, paper engineer Benja Harney, creative due Tin & Ed, photographer James Tolich and graphic artist Georgia Perry. Benja Harney took inspiration from research he did around lobsters in which genetically 1 in every 2 million lobsters is blue. Georgia Perry drew from the Superstar’s rich history and created a poster with semi solar pink as her base. Tin & Ed played with a pool noodle for a triptych photo series. Jonathan Zawada also created a triptych photographic series that plays on the subtle variations of colour and texture within the red Superstar. James Tolich choose to work with bright yellow and created two images of the Superstar shoe raining down against a sky blue background.
