Curve Appeal – CJR AIRSPEED Regulator Watch

Back in July a regulator watch launched on Indiegogo that took inspiration from the dials found on airplane dashboards, which is very appropriate because it quickly soared past its funding goal (our apologies for the blatantly awful pun). Giving the CJR AIRSPEED Regulator Watch an added boost (again, sorry!) is a crafty curved “domed” case that truly lends this piece of gear some one-of-a-kind appeal.

The AIRSPEED comes to us from Calvin Ng in Hong Kong. Calvin has a tremendous knack for design and engineering and he created the watch as an optimal change of pace from the standard fare. As mentioned above he took inspiration from the regulator dials on airplane dashboards and what that means specifically is a small hour and second dial on the watch face while the minute hand takes up the lion’s share of space. The curved case is not just gimmick either–the dome-shaped design was intended to improve visibility. Inside is a Miyota 8219 winding mechanical movement, 21 jewels and a two-day power reserve to ensure this baby runs smoothly and doesn’t fail you when you need it the most. In Calvin’s words, “Try that with your smartwatch.”

There’s basically no human being or situation that couldn’t benefit from the AIRSPEED, which is being touted as “vintage inspired with a modern twist”. It emanates with exceptional beauty and employs top tier dependability by way of water and shock resistance and a glow-in-the-dark function. Interchangeable NATO and leather straps are also part of the package so pick the right strap for the right occasion and make this your versatile gear of choice as soon as it becomes available. Until then all eyes are on you, Calvin!
