HYT is more than a watch brand and more like a tech company with a focus on watches. Their team of Hydro Mechanical Horologists craft timepieces that defy convention by aiming to capture the fluidity of time itself along with capturing other heady concepts like source code. Their new H0 range marks the first time a brand has used “Microfluidio Technology”, which goes back to the basics while pointing firmly toward the future.
At the origin of watchmaking is the goal of tracking time, and when HYT goes “back to the basics” they mean getting to the root of time’s fluid nature. Accordingly, the design of each Swiss-made timepiece in the H0 Collection is based on concepts like concentric waves moving outward from a drop of water, or the fluidity of perpetual, circular motion, prompting you to radically shift your understanding of both horology and time itself. On the perimeter of the unstructured hour display is a curved, luminous retrograde bar that retains the perpetual grace of moving water, again reinforcing the notion of time’s essence.
The 48.8mm case is black titanium with a satin finish dial and screw-down titanium crown. Domed sapphire crystal protects the dial, which is a symphony of satin finishes and bright retrograde indicators, including a power reserve. The mechanical movement is exclusive HYT Calibre with manual winding, and it employs hand-bevelled bridges with a striped finish. The rubber strap includes a titanium buckle. The H0 Collection is part art, part science, and 100% unique. By shifting your focus to the genuine fluidity of time itself, HYT is bringing you one step closer to time’s very essence.
