New Bellroy Bags are the Coolest Carryalls on Campus
Calling all students and young professionals. Bellroy wants to equip you with one of the bags from its latest Campus Collection. There are three new styles to choose from: A backpack for hands-free freedom, a tote for grab-and-go simplicity and the brief is perfect for those seeking office-ready refinement. The best part is these new bags don’t cost the earth.
The Campus Collection offers functional pocketing inside and out, with padded shoulder straps, and soft-touch nylon handles. Tapered edges help avoid abrasion on corners, and binding and bar-tacking on strap junctions ensure the bags last.
“A lot of lower-priced bags compromise on quality in favour of non-functional aesthetics. We challenged ourselves to hit a similar price point while maintaining our level of quality and user experience,” says James Jeffrey, Bellroy designer.
“And we wanted it to be energetic, colourful and accessible. With a casual vibe and a splash of street cred.”
The Campus Backpack, AUD $119, is simple, approachable and designed for everyday use. An external front pocket offers quick access to smaller items, and tiered internal pockets keep valuables above the bottom-of-the-bag crush zone. The padded tech compartment fits a 15-inch laptop, and the Aquaguard front zip, storm-flapped main zipper and water-resistant polyester fabric ensure valuables stay dry in a downpour.
The Classic Tote, $109, is made with performance materials, clever pocketing and comfort-led details, without compromising its casual charm. A soft-lined laptop pocket offers zippered protection for a 15-inch laptop, and two smaller internal pockets keep valuables organised and within reach. A front quick access pocket allows one-handed access to valuables. The flat base means this tote can rest comfortably on the ground.
The Classic Brief, $109, is an excellent gateway into office bags. It’s slim, casually refined, and equally appropriate at the office or evening drinks. The internals include a padded 15-inch laptop section, fronted by two sleeves and a pen pocket, with two zippered pockets on the opposite side. A front quick-access pocket allows one-handed access to valuables. A padded shoulder strap clips off and tucks away neatly.
Each bag has a casual, yet refined look that will fit in at the café, house party, office or on campus. Possibly, all of the above.
When it comes to bags, Bellroy has been busy. It was less than two months ago that the Melbourne-based brand launched its Uniqlo’s U 2020 Spring/Summer Collection and unique Shift Backpack.
