For the latest seasonal men’s collection, Fendi is exposing your green thumb across a range of gardening-inspired fashion. Yes, gardening. The Italian fashion house revealed the new pieces as the Men’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection through a shoot in a classic northern Italian garden to signify the “sophisticated relationship between man and nature.”
With an emphasis on functionality and utility, the new Fendi pieces feature an earthy, muted palette of greens, beiges and browns enhancing the natural materials – silks, cottons, wools, leathers and suede.
Workwear pieces possess a uniform-like feel, including overalls, cargo pants, shirts and suits. They are said to become weightless and fresher through carefully-placed slits and openings and also feature functional and spacious removable pockets zippered into place.
Further nods to the art of gardening appear throughout the accessories collection. A Large Baguette features dark browns contrasted with whites. This bag can be worn either as a belt bag, using the strap that pulls out of the outer pocket on the back, or as a shoulder or cross-body bag by attaching the detachable shoulder straps.
Fendi icons appear in different variants and across a variety of materials. The signature Pequin logo-non-logo also peppers a gardening basket for an additional open-air feel. Developed in collaboration with Moonstar, footwear including high-tops and trainers in canvas and rubber echo the overall gardening mood along with leather sandals and gloves.
Fendi’s Men’s Spring/Summer 2020 campaign was shot by Italian director Luca Guadagnino who has made significant waves outside of Italy with his recent films Call Me by Your Name and his remake of Suspiria. The new pieces were designed under Creative Director Silvia Venturini Fendi.
