MAAP x P.A.M. Breaks Through the Noise With Psy-Cycling Collaboration
Melbourne brands Schwipe and Perks and Mini forecast the blurring of lines between fashion and streetwear in the early 2000s with concepts that paved the way for rule-breaking behaviour in their respective lanes. Following a chance encounter between MAAP’s Creative Director Misha Glisovic, formerly from Schwipe, and Misha Hollenbach and Shauan Toohey of P.A.M. the brands formed a connection. And 20 years later, they find themselves reconnecting to lay the groundwork for a continued partnership in psy-cycling goodness.

After spending the last five years in France – highlighted by their first show at Paris Fashion Week in 2019 – P.A.M.’s Misha H and Shauna connected with MAAP after returning to Melbourne. Their hope was to design a team kit for the cycling crew they’d put together during lockdown. However, the fortuitous email exchange between Misha and Misha sparked something much bigger. An ongoing collaboration that combines P.A.M.’s psy-activated graphic language with MAAP’s technical apparel.
“It was a very organic moment. It was very natural and easy, and very exciting at the same time. It’s affirming when things like that happen. No planning and a very natural synergy emerging was a perfect place to start”, said Misha Hollenbach, P.A.M. Co-Founder.
Bringing a “different perspective to cycling” the first instalment has a focus on inclusion. Exploring the activity itself and providing options for people to access the sport. Whether that’s as a form of recreational activity, mode of transport or a lifestyle choice.
The collection includes both men’s and women’s options and an accessories list that features a bidon, cap and socks. Our favourite pieces include the bib shorts, jersey and tee with P.A.M.’s touch evident across all pieces in the collection. Expect these to function as good as they look, with MAAP’s use of technical materials and cuts.

The collection is available in extremely limited quantities now via maap.cc and Perks and Mini. And be on the lookout on Perks and Mini Sydney’s Instagram page as they host ‘night rides’ after lockdown.
