MOSCOT and Saturdays NYC Explore True New York Narrative
MOSCOT and Saturdays NYC have teamed up once again for an exclusive pair of TOMO sunglasses. Limited to just 150 units globally the sunglasses will be available from 24th May 2022 online and in-store at both retailers. With both brands taking inspiration from the unique New York City fashion aesthetic the collaboration explores friendship through an active urban lifestyle lens – and it all starts with the name.
“‘TOMO’ which means ‘friend’ in Japanese, is a name that perfectly reflects our friendship as brands, and of our patrons that appreciate what MOSCOT and Saturdays offer… the partnership was sparked as a celebration of New York-centric brands representing active city culture. This was a natural fit given the similarities of the brands and our customers who appreciate our craftsmanship, heritage, and true New York narrative,” shares Chief Design Officer and 5th Generation, Zack Moscot.

The MOSCOT x Saturdays NYC ‘TOMO’ sunglasses stick to the script while thinking outside the box in terms of subtle hardware changes and applications of colour. Material is acetate, with a wrap-around style frame front featuring three-dot rivets, unique beveling and no exposed hardware, paddle temples with grips, a saddle bridge, and real seven-barrel hinges.
Taking the friendship motif to the next level, a long time friend of both brands, Danny DiMauro, styles the sunglasses for campaign imagery that follows the model out to New York’s Rockaway Beach for an early morning surf session. The duality is made clear with these sunglasses that are just as at home next to a peacoat as they’re a shell jacket. Rounding out the collaborative partnership, The MOSCOT x Saturdays Surf Spotify playlist provides the tunes for an endless summer in NYC chosen by members of each team.
The specialty frame is made in two Classiconic MOSCOT colours (images below):
- Shiny Black with G15 Glass Lenses
- Dark Havana with Chestnut Fade Tinted Lenses
Both pairs come with a custom co-branded chamois, and a reminder, these are limited to just 150 pairs. The MOSCOT x Saturdays NYC ‘TOMO’ sunglasses will retail for $500 AUD, and you can purchase a pair for yourself via the link below.
