Made-to-measure tailoring house Oscar Hunt has launched a new range of limited edition suits that showcase Australian Indigenous arts and culture.
Through collaboration with internationally renowned Indigenous artist and performer, Stan Yarramunua, Oscar Hunt presents six unique prints featured as the lining of suits available in limited quantities across stores in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
Each printed lining has a unique story to tell and is guaranteed to add some culture to that event or your place of work. The styles include:
· The Citizen – Driven by the belief that we are stronger together.
· The Philosopher – Stoic with an inner strength that encourages others.
· The Insider – Working in a system to change the system for the better.
· The Non-Conformist – Unconventional by nature and willing to go against the grain.
· The Artist – Creative and curious with an eye for innovation and disruption.
· The Connector – Finds strength in collaboration and focus in intent.
“For me, the power of art is unparalleled – it’s one of the purest forms of storytelling,” said Stan Yarramunua. “The selected linings represent a series of narratives that embody courage, integrity, creativity and connection to country. Showcasing Indigenous art is timeless, and a way to connect our past, present and future.”
The Oscar Hunt indigenous suits were made in partnership with social enterprise Amity Guild – born from a love of hand-crafted suits and connecting like-minded individuals passionate about leadership and impact.
Amity Guild Co-Founder Benson Igua Saulo said his role in bringing the project to life came as a result of his own ‘battles in the boardroom’, during his career across business, finance and human rights with a desire to proudly showcase his Indigenous heritage as armour.
“We formed Amity Guild for a very simple reason – to showcase Australia’s rich cultural history and celebrate this with like-minded individuals. From there, we approached Oscar Hunt, which felt like a natural fit for us.”
“They share awareness and appreciation of Indigenous arts and culture that can help bring our stories to offices and boardrooms across the country – ultimately, connecting the wearer to a growing national movement of reconciliation.”
The limited-edition Oscar Hunt indigenous suits are available now.
