Razer x BAPE Returns For This Year’s Most Anticipated Gaming Collaboration

When two powerhouses of their respective sectors come together the results are typically epic. And while big name collaborations in both the streetwear and fashion industry are nothing new in culture today, few have tapped into the core of what makes each individual brand special. In their 2020 collaboration, Razer and BAPE linked to bring us one of the most hotly anticipated collaborations of the year, with the majority of the collection selling out seconds after release, and for 2022 the two join forces again with a collection of more than twice the size. And before you ask, yes there are BAPE STA’s.

Apparel and Footwear
Key pieces in the collection include the famous Shark Logo Hoodie with the classic BAPE WGM ‘World Gone Mad’ motif on the hood and ‘A Gaming Ape’ logo across the front. The classic BAPE head t-shirts will undoubtedly be one of the biggest sellers, and feature a logo flip with the ape wearing a Razer Kraken headset for the black tees and the Razer Kraken Kitty on the pink. One of our favourite pieces would have to be the camo Tee that includes the founding number ’93’ on the back with a smattering of both brands’ logos all over.

This summer, expect to turn some heads in the limited edition A Gaming Ape collection which truly straddles the two worlds of gaming and fashion,” said Addie Tan, Associate Director of Business Development at Razer.
Shorts are a staple piece of any BAPE-heads wardrobe and the classic black basketball shorts with shark motif are a personal favourite of ours. Of course, the alternative Quartz studded shorts elevate that aesthetic to the next level with ‘A Gaming Ape’ embroidery.
Ultimately, the highlight of the latest collection is the classic and highly sought-after BAPE STA sneakers that embody the true essence of the collaboration with bright Razer-green highlights on the upper, including an outsole that glows in the dark. The ever-popular shark motif is once again featured behind the semi-translucent outsole of the sneaker with the cushion unit being black. We’d put our money on this one being the most popular (and valuable) piece in the apparel collection.

Peripherals
In true Razer fashion, there’s a host of co-branded peripherals and gaming gear. At the top of the list sits the fan favourite Razer Blackwidow V3 Keyboard, often touted as the world’s first and most iconic gaming mechanical keyboard. In this iteration, we find Razer Green mechanical switches, a transparent switch housing, and UV-coated ABS keycaps. Alongside the keyboard sits the V2 Blackwidow gaming mouse, Goliathus Speed Mat, Opus Headset, and 15-inch laptop sleeve that’s both waterproof and features a mousepad for portability.

The highlight in the peripherals collection in our eyes is the co-branded Razer Iskur gaming chair. Seen here with a black and Quartz studded aesthetic and a camo print design. Of course, the chair is ergonomic and comfortable with contours and a high-density foam cushion.
Razer x BAPE Pricing and Release Date
Raze x BAPE will release at Razer.com, Bape.com, and stores worldwide on July 22, 2022, in very limited numbers. What is traditionally uncommon, the brands have revealed only 1337 units of each style will be available with prices starting from $79.99 USD.
