Performance footwear and streetwear has taken the world by storm. As people continue to want to portray their activity level, while maintaining a certain standard of fashion, this type of gear has grown immensely in popularity. This week marks the official launch of York Athletics, a new performance footwear brand with a focus on health and wellness. Mark McGarry, the co-founder & CEO, and his wife Elizabeth, the Creative Director, bring long contributions to the industry with experience consulting and designing for Reebok, Puma, Nike and more. Needless to say, their experience and skill shows through quite well.
The Boston-based brand has a simple philosophy. They do not compromise on performance, shooting for, and achieving a clean, understated look that is welcome with any outfit. The first products are the footwear: the Henry and the Henry Mid. The Henry is a lightweight trainer built for running, while the Mid is built with a focus on the gym and cross-training. Coming soon from York will be a collection of accessories, including socks, a hat, a beanie, a duffle and some cool tees. The shoes can be purchased online as well as in store and online at the brand’s exclusive retail partner Bodega. The Henry from York might be the perfect minimalist shoe for 2016.
