Virgil Abloh started out as Kanye West’s creative director before he went on to create his own luxury menswear and womenswear label Off-White, which he manages in his free time when not fulfilling his duties as the artistic director of menswear for Louis Vuitton. Since then, he’s been blurring the line between streetwear and high fashion. Now he’s created a special line for the Land Down Under—Off-White’s Exclusive Australian Collection.
The Australian collection is a gathering of Off-White’s most popular styles redone in white, black, and light blue. Those selections include Off-White’s field jacket classic black tagged 2.0 sneakers, tees, Japanese-style denim workman shirts, the industrial belt, a pair of low-rise jeans, and an electric-blue hoodie. Several of the items in the collection feature Abloh’s graffiti signature and the exclusive inscription “Off-White Australia Limited Edition.” The much sought after industrial belt proudly features Off-White’s ironic use of quotation marks around the word “belt.” Each of the items is offered in black, white, or blue. They also feature the company’s branding as well as prints that are inspired by graffiti.
Abloh has designed exclusive collections for Australia before, and his love for the country is well known. “Australia for me,” confesses Abloh, “is a land that is rich not only in literal soil, but personalities.” This new capsule is only available in Off-White’s Sydney, located in Westfield, and Melbourne, in the QV, stores.
