Reebok has rewound the clock for an upgraded unisex edition of the original “Alien Stomper” first worn by Ripley in Ridley Scott’s 1986 masterpiece Aliens. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Alien franchise, so Reebok’s latest stompers draw inspiration from the original film. The 40th anniversary Alien Stompers are set for an April 26 release and retail for $175 USD per pair.
The new edition features premium-aged leather construction for that vintage appearance which looks “straight from the vaults.” Arriving in a cream-white colourway with blood red and anthracite detailing, this movie-inspired sneaker is oozing with design touches and easter eggs for die-hard fans to discover.
The original Weylan-Yutani Corporation logo is found on the inside of the sneaker – the original name before D was added to Weyland for the sequel. Plus there’s a stitched WW patch inside the heel. This was initially meant to be the crew’s uniform insignia before it was dropped and later rediscovered through concept art. The yellow tag features Ripley’s identification code.
Beyond the movie-inspired stompers, each pair comes housed in a prism-shaped Alien franchise starter kit. There’s a certificate of authenticity, backed by the Weylan-Yutani Corporation. The custom dust bag may or may not protect the shoes from acid-blooded xenomorphs. There’s also an official “Bug Stomping Field Guide” and three unique hang tags.
