First released in the 1990s as an advanced running shoe, the New Balance 574 utilised ENCAP technology to offer cutting edge stability and suspension. Plus its timeless design has allowed the silhouette to remain relevant and cement itself into the modern sneaker culture. That’s why in 2018, New Balance is celebrating its icon in classic colourways and limited edition packaging.
The 574 Evergreen sneaker features slight updates from the 90s for increased comfort and an improved fit including a reduced toe height, simplified seam construction, one-piece lining, a rubber outsole and an enhanced heel shape.
The new silhouette honours its roots with the classic New Balance logo appearing on the tongue, and the upper is built from suede and vintage mesh applied with a traditional stitching design.
Unaffected by trends, the triumphant return of the classic New Balance 574 proves that its unaffected by trends and its timeless, utilitarian design spans generations, revitalised by the independent spirit of the modern era.
The New Balance 574 Evergreen is available now in men’s and women’s sizes from New Balance concept stores and online for RRP AUD $120. In other footwear news, the adidas EQT Cushion ADV rises from the ashes. Plus we countdown the 10 best Australian shoe brands.
