New Balance has released the 997H – a new footwear design inspired by the brand’s classic 997, but streamlined and modernised for 2019. It’s the perfect streetwear option for 90’s fanboys who prefer the technology of today.
The 997H is lighter than the original shoe and features synthesised leather on the tongue and collar, as well as suede, mesh and leather detailing. There are 9 colourways for men and 4 for women. Each pair retails for $140.
First released in 1991, the 997 boasted shock absorption, combining New Balance’s ENCAP and C-CAP cushioning with a focus on mid-foot support. For comparison, that’s the same year the Hubble Telescope launched, Terminator 2: Judgement Day was in cinemas and Michael Jordan made his first NBA finals appearance.
The New Balance 997H is available now online and at NB stores across Australia.
