New Balance Grabs Aimé Leon Dore to Revive Another Archive Favourite

The New Balance 550 is a sneaker that’s dominated the cultural zeitgeist since we first saw its debut via. New Balance Lifestyle Director and Aime Leon Dore founder Teddy Santis’ label last year. Over the course of the next 12-months, the model would become an in-house staple with a range of general release colourways such as the triple black carrying the hype to this day.

Backing up its success, the New Balance x Aime Leon Dore 650 jumps back into the archives for what is, at its core, a high top version of one of our favourite sneakers. How do you get your hands on a pair? Where can you buy the New Balance 650 in Australia? These are the details you need to know.

New Balance x Aime Leon Dore 650 Release Information

Release date: 05/05/2022 at 10:00 (Australia/Melbourne)
Where to
Highlights: Dark green, Tempo red, Team away grey, and Blue.

Those lucky enough to get their hands on a pair of 550s will notice the outside proportions of the 650 are much the same. Differences arrive with a puff and stitch colour on the exterior (a notable change from the original pieces moulded foam) and an ankle surround with a raw-edged leather eyerow that demonstrates a subtle, yet visible attention to detail and craftsmanship we’ve come to expect from New Balance.

Vintage basketball shoes are THE sneakers to have in your rotation right now and we recommend doing whatever you can to get your hands on these ones. Of course, like any collaborative New Balance in Australia, they’ll be very limited and hard to come by, but for those interested in having a crack, jump onto from 05/05/2022 at 10:00 (Australia/Melbourne). Images of the sneakers in each colour can be found above and below.
