New Balance continues its undefeated streak with its latest Aimé Leon Dore (ALD) collaboration. While the NB550 has dominated the cultural zeitgeist on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram over the last few months, the 993 is dedicated to sneakerheads that operate at a higher taste level. Made in the USA construction, distinctive colour blocking, and supreme levels of comfort is what you should expect from such a shoe. Not to mention the exclusive club you join if you manage to secure one of the limited pairs.

In case you need any refreshing, Aimé Leon Dore is a fashion and lifestyle brand based in New York City. They take inspiration from daily life and culture, bringing them together with certified classic collections accompanied by celebrity photoshoots and artist profiles. The most modern interpretation of streetwear we see today, ALD draws the line in the sand between high fashion and streetwear with quality garments and globally recognised collaborations. It’s ALL about operating at a higher taste level and the same can be said for their latest collaboration with New Balance.
Choosing the Made in U.S. New Balance 993 as their base, the pair turns a page in the history books to deliver a clean-cut silhouette suitable for smart-casual occasions. Originally introduced in 2008, the 993 combines elements of the two previous 99X series models, the 991 and 992, into one. For this collaboration between New Balance x Aimé Leon Dore, the 993 sneaker features light khaki suede overlays, blue mesh underlays, a black ABZORB midsole and rubber outsole with Aimé Leon Dore branded inserts and foxing for detail.
The sneaker will be available for the first time on the Air Jordan XII Low ‘Taxi’ Golf Shoe Launch, along with premium sneaker retailers across Australia, such as SUBTYPE and Sneaker Boy. Detailed images can be found below.
