Nike Confirms 50 Off-White Dunk Lows for Upcoming Collection

Nike has officially unveiled 50 Off White x Nike Dunk Low silhouettes on their SNKRS app after months of rumours and speculation. We’ve known about the pair’s collaborative intentions since Off Whites Virgil Abloh teased the venture on his Instagram in late May, but anything outside of a shoebox, leaks and the title “Dear Summer” seemed pure speculation. That all changed when both Nike and Abloh simultaneously unveiled the range, colourways and initial imagery via their accounts.

Initial leaks speculated at a proposed 20-colour lineup that included classic ‘college’ colour overlays on white leather, but Virgil denounced the leaks instantly. Saying “I couldn’t pick this many bad colourways if I tried” in response, personally putting a dagger in the hearts of hype sneaker collectors and resellers globally. Instead, it seems he’s done quite the opposite with this collection. Removing the scarcity model that worked so well for the “The Ten” collection by releasing 50 different colourways (if you want to call them that) of the sought-after model.

The range is mostly made up of the same Sail/ Grey colourway, with a few major standouts. Variety is seen with different coloured laces, midsole badging, identity number, and the signature Off-White tag which differentiates each model. In its unveiling on the SNKRS app, the brand broke down all the colourways, materials and numbers. Leaving our favourite, the black pair, for last.

The only two pairs that stray from the collections status quo are number 1 and 50 respectfully. Number (01/50) features an all-white upper with a silver metallic swoosh and yellow midsole reminiscent of the Air Force 1 ’07 Off-White collaboration from 2017. While number (50/50) is seen wearing an all-black upper/ leather combination with purple hits, most reminiscent of the MoMA collaboration from 2018. When you consider the MoMA pair resells for over AU$6000, you can probably guess which ones are going to be the most sought after.

We are yet to see a release date for the Nike x Off-White “The 50” Dunk Low, however, you can check out the collection in its entirety via the SNKRS website. For more artistic portrayals see Virgil Ablohs Instagram imagery below.
