Air Force 1s are arguably the most recognisable sneaker in Nike’s vast collection (if not the whole world, lezzbehonest), and they’ve never gone out of fashion for a good reason. Transcending time, place and demographic (despite their fame and the fact that millionaire rappers openly lust after them, Nike have never priced them as a top-shelf shoe), the humble AF1 has been a favourite for the masses for some time now, and later this year, will celebrate its 35th birthday.
To celebrate this milestone, Nike have teamed up with doyens of the sneaker world to release several collaborations honouring the ubiquitous all-white Air Force 1, and the results are exciting. Really exciting.
Calling in the likes of Travis Scott, Virgil Abloh (Off White), Kareem ‘Biggs’ Burke (Roc-A-Fella), Errolson Hugh (Acronym) and Don C (Just Don) to work on individual interpretations of the same shoe has resulted in some seriously steezy sneakers, that’ll have you torn between showing them off and keeping them in the box for future generations to bask in their virginal white glory. We’ve captioned what’s what below for your convenience, but be sure to get on top of this TODAY – these bad boys won’t last long in stores (maybe follow Nelly’s lead and get two purr).
