ASICS has released a new tennis shoe with world number one player Novak Djokovic. It’s named Court FF Novak and it’s designed to be supportive and agile while athletes move around the court. Djokovic is currently wearing the shoes during his Australian Open tennis campaign in Melbourne.
Court FF Novak was developed for Djokovic’s sliding stroke, and his lateral and medial foot movements. Determined to design a tooling construction offering lightweight flexibility, Djokovic worked closely with ASICS to ensure enhanced support for the midfoot area.
Taking to ASICS’ Melbourne flagship store, the 14-time Grand Slam title holder said “I’ve been collaborating with the ASICS Global Product Team to develop footwear which suits my style of play. Teamwork has been important, and ASICS’ philosophy of technology and performance has seen us design a shoe which provides the best of both speed and stability.”
Court FF Novak’s features include flexibility at the midfoot area for cutting motion. Thanks to the shoe’s split Trusstic and outsole, the wearer will possess twisting flexibility. This guides the foot for efficient forward dash motion while maintaining bending stiffness.
The Monosock construction and Heel Counter support stability for lateral movement. The Side wrap-up of midsole and outsole provide higher durability. There’s also a wider rear foot platform and a rounded outsole edge for all-around ground contact. Detailing includes Novak’s initials on the heel and a dove on the shoelace holder.
ASICS Court FF Novak shoes are available now for $240 AUD.
